Bucknell University partnered with ANC to upgrade Sojka Pavilion with a new video display prior to the 2016-2017 NCAA basketball season.
The Bison will look to defend the men’s & women’s regular season Patriot League Championship in front of a new 12’ high by 20’ wide video display. The new display will be located on the north façade of Sojka Pavilion and will supplant the original video board that has been in place since the facility opened in 2003. The new board will help enhance the fan experience by providing live and packaged video, replays, statistics, contests and other entertainment.
“Bucknell University strives to offer a first-class gameday experience for our loyal supporters, who have helped us generate one of the best fan atmospheres in college basketball at Sojka Pavilion,” said Director of Athletics and Recreation John Hardt.
“Our partnership with ANC will enrich that spectator experience, utilizing new technology to provide entertaining content.”
Utilizing the newest technology, the new display will be operated through ANC’s award-winning vSOFT™ control system. This display system will feature uncompressed content, providing the clearest visuals available in sports.
ANC’s creative services department will create engaging and interactive game day content for the video display system, such as game information, energizing game prompts and student-athlete features.
“We are looking forward to delivering an emotional gameday experience at Bucknell University’s Sojka Pavilion,” said Jerry Cifarelli, ANC’s Vice President of Collegiate Sales. “Working with Bucknell’s event staff, we will help boost the Bison’s home court advantage through dynamic visuals.”
Bucknell’s corporate partner platform and comprehensive multimedia rights are managed by Learfield’s Bucknell Sports Properties, the Lewisburg-based team solely dedicated to the Bison. According to Mike Trudnak, General Manager for Bucknell Sports Properties, “We’re thrilled to have this type of innovative technology at Bucknell. This will allow our partners a brand-new avenue to maximize sponsorship opportunities at both our men’s and women’s basketball games, along with all other events held throughout the year at Sojka Pavilion.”
In addition to Sojka Pavilion, some of ANC’s other 2016 NCAA projects include venue renovations at University of Montana, University of Nevada Reno, Temple University, University of Colorado, St. Bonaventure and Texas Tech University.
The Bucknell men’s basketball team captured its fifth Patriot League regular-season title in the last six years in 2015-16, while the Bison women shared the regular-season title with Army West Point with a 17-1 conference mark. Following the men’s team’s home opener on Nov. 11, the women make their Sojka Pavilion debut on Nov. 17 against NJIT.
