CINCINNATI — The Cintas Center experience is about to change in a big way.
Xavier University announced Thursday that its on-campus arena will undergo a $3 million technology upgrade this summer.
The project, which the school said will be funded through private gifts and revenue from Xavier’s multimedia partnership with Learfield IMG College, includes a new center-hung scoreboard that will be 2.5 times the size of the current one with a high definition video display, upgraded fascia ribbon display, new graphics systems and HD cameras.
The new scoreboard, supplied by ANC, a sports marketing and signage company that specializes in multimedia displays, is the third generation Cintas Center scoreboard and a substantial upgrade from the last scoreboard that was installed in 2010. The new display will be in 1080 HD and it will be complemented by HD broadcast-quality cameras, hardware and a new suite of graphics systems, all geared to improve the fan experience.
